During the 2018 season, the Erie Seawolves experienced several instances where their baseball field was not performing up to professional standards. The main issue was improper drainage. 

In the off-season, Erie Events (owner of UPMC Stadium) engaged with Great Lakes Athletic Fields on a design and build agreement. We rebuilt the entire playing field, including the installation of new drainage and irrigation systems as well as new surface materials. The project returned the field to a professional level in time for the next season.
